Dainese Finley Jones' journey to becoming a counselor began at just five years old, with a focus on compassion, resilience, and selflessness. Growing up in Greenville County, South Carolina, Jones was taught the values of compassion, resilience, and selflessness. One of the most formative experiences was caring for their aging grandmother, Rev. Evelyn Starks Finley. This experience ignited her passion for healing and recovery, leading her to pursue the field of Counseling.
After completing her education at South Carolina State University, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2007, followed by a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2008. Dainese continued to expand her knowledge and skills by earning a Master of Science in School Counseling from Capella University in 2018. Dainese is currently independently licensed (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) in Illinois and South Carolina (Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor) and holds supervisory credentials in both states. In addition, Dainese is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Dainese looks to expand her services to the state of North Carolina in the near future.
Throughout her 15+ years in the Counseling and human services field, she has worked in various settings, including psychiatric residential treatment facilities, K-12 educational institutions, state and federal government agencies, and military installations. Dainese’s experience spans across various areas, including trauma recovery, stress management, ADHD, self-worth and self-confidence, goal-setting, career guidance, vocational rehabilitation, case management, peer mentoring/coaching, disability services, and social and communication skills.
To support persons with identifying and accepting their inherent strength and resilience, Dainese founded Red Couch Counseling, LLC, to offer personalized counseling and support to adolescents, adults, and families in need. The name "Red Couch" represents the heart of her approach, providing a space of comfort, safety, and authenticity where tough conversations can take place and deep wounds can begin to heal.
At Red Couch, we challenge you to, "Believe in yourself, never give up, and allow yourself to evolve into your greatest version” ....... See you on the Couch!
Therapy can be beneficial for adolescents, who may reveal feelings they wouldn't share with their loved ones. It can help them grow and strengthen broken relationships. Individuals range from 8 to 19 year-olds who may be dealing with tough times, anxiety, stress, or struggle with learning differences, academic pressure, or social issues. Therapy provides support and reinforces the importance of discussing challenges as a healthy way to cope. It can help young people learn enthusiasm, pursue their strengths, and enjoy positive relationships.
